The latest news from your favorite web host! Urgent maintenance announcement
Due to a power maintenance event, ServerPoint.com will be moving several racks worth of dedicated servers to a new location within our data center.
We will begin doing this move on Saturday, November 19th, starting at around 10AM PST.
You are receiving this email because one of your servers is in one such rack. If you have multiple servers, you can check which of your servers will be moved by logging in to http://my.serverpoint.com, and looking at the serial number column on the listing of your servers. We will be moving servers that start with serial numbers 28, 29, 30 and 32.
Expected downtime is less than ten minutes per server. Please make sure that all of your essential services are set to automatically start when the server boots up. As we move each server, we will verify that the server boots up fine. This event will be repeated each Saturday with different racks of servers until we are done (about 12 racks will be relocated).
This power event is related to a necessary upgrade and repair to a central PDU (power distribution unit) and it requires the PDU to be taken offline. We'd rather not do that while live servers are getting power from it of course. We prefer a more controlled approach. 
Customers that have servers with redundant power supplies or hardware RAID options, please ignore this notice. Since such servers are classified as "enterprise level", they are on a separate and dedicated power feed coming from redundant PDUs and those are not part of this event.
