If you do not have an active VPS with CurlHost at Seattle facility, on nodes XN3-SEA(63.223.106.39) and XN4-SEA(76.191.112.236), please disregard this email. To view the node your VPS in on, login to VPS Control Panel at https://vps.curlhost.com and under your VPS, the node is listed under field "Node"
We would like to take an opportunity to discuss the recent instability issues with the said nodes causing disruption of service at times. The nodes have been online since January '11 and February '11 and have been running wihout any issues. However, they dropped the network on the VPS as dhcp server running on the server(the service responsible for assigning IPs to Xen-HVM VPS) encountered issue through the latest updates applied. This took a while to trace the cause and fix the issue. However, we do know how inconvenient it is to have your VPS, which might even host critical service/websites/data, to be unavailable the moment you need to. For this reason, we have proactively taken steps to ensure that updates will now be applied to the servers/nodes in a differnt approach to ensure vps are up and running even if something breaks. The issues have now been resolveed after the recent patch applied on the servers.
We are aware that these outages have had huge impact on the services, and will be compensating for the same. We're applying a credit of 38% of the monthly recurring fee to your account. To have the credit applied to your account, simply mail billing@curlhost.com or open a billing ticket mentioning your VPS IP, and we'll immediately apply the credit to your account.
We would like to confirm again that the issues have now been resolved, and you won't be facing the issues again. In addition, as some of you might have even considered cancelling the service, we would like to request you to try the service now, just let us know and we'll add additional time to your service period. We want to ensure that no one is dissatisfied since this is not what you expect us to deliver.
We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, and do appreciate your patience all this time. |
